This is a 10 miler in the Alkham Valley, which starts appropriately from the tiny village of Alkham, the route traverses either side of the valley, there are good views throughout on a fine British Summer day.
The outward leg climbs steadily away from the village, to visit the ruins of St Radigund's Abbey, before continuing to the popular Russell Gardens & Kearsney Abbey, there is however one unavoidable short stretch of busy road. We then pass through Temple Ewell to soon turn back towads Kearsney on the other side of the valley. The descent back down to Kearsney along the high downs for the last half mile or so is sheer delight.
There will be a snack break most probably at Kearsney Abbey and a possible pub stop en route.
