Overview

The canal was the first purpose-built freight link from Birmingham to London, before newer (and noisier) railways and roads led to its decline. An easy flat walk along the towpath, ending at Little Venice and Paddington Basin.

Toilets: at start in Alperton station, at Sainsbury's Ladbroke Grove, and at end at Paddington.

Lunch: at the end of the walk: suggest cafés and shops at Paddington.
