This is a moderate coastal walk - entirely flat - along the north Kent coast. It passes the dramatic landmark of Reculver. We follow the raised sea wall over remote flat marshland, a sea channel until the 12th century, along an unspoilt shingle beach which has interesting wildflowers (in summer) and seabirds. Fine views of distant shipping and windfarms, and ruins of the twin towers of Reculver Church. No drop out points.
Lunch: Picnic at Reculver (café and toilets nearby).
Train: London Victoria (Ramsgate Train) 8:40; Bromley South 08:57; Faversham 09:51; Arr 10:19 (Ramsgate train). Buy return to Westgate-on-Sea.
