Overview

 

The walk begins in the centre of Oxford then transitions into Oxfordshire countryside.  It takes in a good mix of sights and terrains along the River Thames, over the farmlands, and through Chilswell Valley, passing North Hinksey, Boars Hills, from where one can enjoy the vision of Oxford.  The latter part of the walk crosses land owned and managed by the Oxford Preservation Trust. The walk finishes along the Thames Path, passing the University boathouses.

Lunch: at Fox Inn or picnic in the garden.  

Train: London Paddington 9:50, Reading 10:18, arr. Oxford 10:43; alternative train London Marylebone 9:07 arr. 10:35 (Chiltern Railways).  

Toilet: available at stations (queue likely) and on train.
