A walk that is inspired by King Harold’s march to the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Harold was crowned King of England on 6th January 1066. This set in motion a chain of events from the Battle of Stamford Bridge and ended in defeat at the Battle of Hastings.
We start at Rochester and walk along the North Downs Way up to the Robin Hood PH and Blue Bell Hill Picnic Area before the walk down into the Medway Valley to Maidstone. There are some stiles and the ground may be muddy in wet weather
Please bring a packed lunch as we will not be having a long lunch break.
