A walk over the bleak Danby low moor to Commondale and returning via the Esk Valley pathway and Danby Wood. The walk is a mixture of moorland paths, farm tracks, bridleways and small sections of quiet road walking. The paths are generally in good condition with some boggy areas on the moors. While the area is fairly inhospitable and exposed the views are outstanding. There is one slight up out of Danby and the ground is uneven on the moor but generally the paths are fairly flat. There is one stile.
