This linear walk is along sections of the English Coastal Path. We follow the River Darent over Dartford Marshes to its estuary with to the Thames. There are outstanding views of The Queen Elizabeth Bridge at Dartford, with great photo opportunities not to be missed!
We turn east from the Darent Estuary along the Coastal Path to Greenhithe for a lunch stop.
The preferred option is to bring a packed lunch although there is a cafe and large supermarket offering 'meal deals'.
The second section of the coastal path takes us via Swanscombe Marshes, Botany Marshes and through industries old and new with chalk cliffs to our right at Northfleet as we make our way into Gravesend. We turn right at Gravesend Pair for the town centre and railway station to end the walk. Directly opposite the pier at Gravesend on the north bank of the Thames is Tilbury Docks.
Dropout point, Greenhithe Railway Station after 7 miles.
No booking required.
No dogs.
We will be walking at a brisk pace.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors such as, weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
