This lovely linear walk starts at Hemel Hempstead with a short section along the Grand Union Canal. We continue through Shrub Hill Common and climb through woods to the open countryside. There are some stunning views. We continue through Heizdin’s Wood and climb to the historic Gaddesden Place, then descend to Great Gaddesden for the lunch break. There is a garden centre with a café, but please bring a packed lunch. After lunch we head south with footpaths along fields and woodland passing Nettleden, Frithsden and Berkhamsted Golf Course. There are more beautiful views before descent to Berkhamsted. A canal pub stop at the end of the walk is an option.
