We start at Richmond station and climb up through suburban Richmond to Richmond Park. We cross the Park passing Pen Ponds and White Lodge to Roehampton Gate. We leave the Park and descend through Palewell Park to Barnes and then on to the River following the course of Beverley Brook. The lunch stop will be at Putney Parish Church.
After lunch we follow the River through Wandsworth Park and then strike inland following the Wandle through King George’s Park and suburban Earlsfield to reach Wimbledon Park. From there we follow the hill contours through suburban Wimbledon to the Station.
There might be muddy bits in the Parks but otherwise the route has been chosen to be reasonable underfoot. We may or may not see any deer but there will be ducks on the river for certain.
Packed lunch is recommended however food and hot drinks are available at the lunch stop.
Lavatory facilities are available at Richmond Station at the exit from Richmond Park and at the lunch stop.
Exit points are available at Barnes Station and in Putney in the morning and at Earlsfield station after lunch.
