Overview

We will walk from Wimbledon Town Centre up to Wimbledon Village and then across Wimbledon Common to the Windmill. We will circle around the North side of the Common and down to Beverley Brook where will enter Richmond Park at the Robin Hood Gate. Walking through the Park we will pass through the Isabella Plantation to reach the lunch stop at Pembroke Lodge. After lunch, having enjoyed the views across London from Sawyers Hill, we will walk through Two Storm Wood to meet Beverley Brook at Roehampton Gate, follow the Brook through Palewell Park, cross to Priory Lane and walk down to Barnes Common and Barnes Station.

Packed lunch is recommended however snacks and hot drinks are available at the lunch stop.

Lavatory facilities are available at half an hour into the walk on Wimbledon Common and at the lunch stop

Drop out points with bus connections are available at Richmond Park in the morning and after lunch.

Take the 10.24 Dorking train from London Waterloo, 10.28 at Vauxhall, 10.33 at Clapham Junction arrives at Wimbledon (Zone 3) at 10.40.

Finish is at Barnes Station (Zone 3) from where there are trains to London Waterloo, Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, Richmond and Hounslow.

No booking required.

No dogs.

Walking shoes should be fine.
