Walking throughout Wiltshire
Welcome to Wiltshire and Swindon Area Ramblers. We have five great groups (North East, North West, Mid, West & South) providing a range of walks and other activities to help you experience the joys of walking.
We cover the whole county from the historic cathedral city of Salisbury in the south to Swindon in the north. This area has a diverse landscape including parts of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), Salisbury Plain, The Cotswolds National Landscape and the Cranborne Chase AONB. And of course, there are the key sights such as Stonehenge, Avebury and Silbury Hill.
You can find out more about each group by clicking on the group which covers the area you are most interested in.
Our walking community
By joining one of our groups, you will have access to a wide variety of walks to suit your preference, with most groups offering mid-week and weekend walks of various distances and grades. There are also walks further afield, so we are bound to have a walk that meets your need, whether on the flat or up on the Downs.
Should you wish to give something back (to the countryside and local community) most of our groups have an active working party who regularly engages with the local council in clearing rights of way, not only for our groups to walk but for everyone in the local community to which you may belong.
Finally, there are always the non-walking activities. Whether it be a social evening or a more festive occasion such as a Christmas party, you will make new friends and enjoy a memorable event.
