Join me for a delightful walk in the gentle rolling countryside of Leicestershire, in an area known as The Wreake Valley. From The Old Packhorse bridge in Rearsby we will walk to Gaddesby, where the Church has a richly carved 14th century south aisle. Here we will pause for our morning refreshment stop. We will then continue to Brooksby where we will enjoy our packed lunch before the final stretch back to Rearsby. Good paths on grassy field edges with tracks and paths. There are a number of stiles. No proper hills! Sorry, but there are no public toilets on the route. We do have to cross the A607 twice, but there is a centre reservation on the outward journey and traffic/crossing lights on the return.
If you would like to join this walk please contact the leader using the email link.
Please bring a packed lunch.
Parking is on street. There is parking on Brookside, either side of the bridge (the meeting place) with other parking available on Mill Road, and on Melton Road near the Village Hall (sorry car park not available to us) and near the School. If you park on Melton Road it is a couple of minutes walk to the meeting point. Please car share where possible and arrive early to ensure you can get parked up.
Estimated driving time from West Bridgford? 35 minutes
