Circular from Marlow Station starts along a picturesque 2 ml section of Thames Path eastwards. This section of river inspired Kenneth Grahame (who lived nearby) in writing ''The Wind in the Willows.'' We'll notice the steep-sided banks opposite rising up to Winter Hill. Then turning inland across the railway we pass a lake on our way into the small hamlet of Little Marlow, for a brief break by the 12th Century Church. Continuing north, we soon gently ascend into woodland and join the Chiltern Way, pausing briefly to view the site of the ancient earthwork at Warren Wood, trying to pick out the shape of its inner and outer Enclosures, believed to be constructed in medieval times. Picnic lunch will be a little further on in the woods. The walk continues along the Chiltern Way through Marlow Bottom and on to Bovingdon Green. (If time permits we'll stop at 'The Royal Oak' pub for drinks). The last part follows 'Shakespeare's Way' trail heading down to Marlow, hopefully having time to view the Thames with its suspension bridge, before heading to the station.
Meet outside entrance to Marlow station platform, no toilets.
