Overview

Hungerford is a small and pretty town on the River Dun, the Kennet and Avon Canal and the A4 Bath Road. We walk down the High Street and through open country (briefly entering the South West) to a picnic or pub lunch at Froxfield. From there we return along the canal and marsh land and past the church to Hungerford, where pubs and cafés are available before catching the train back.

Toilets: use toilets on train, but available if needed near start, at pub at lunch and near finish.

Lunch: picnic or pub in Froxfield.

Train: Paddington 10:35 arriving Hungerford 11:25. Buy return to Hungerford.
