A circular walk from Hertford East Train Station following the Hertfordshire Way to Stapleford which takes us first to Waterford by following the River Beane; an area of tranquil beauty, open fields and peaceful lanes. We leave Waterford behind for the outskirts of Stapleford and St Mary’s Church. Thereafter, we follow local paths along quiet roads and across fields with expansive panoramic views to our proposed lunch stop at Tonwell.
After lunch we begin our return to Hertford East via Rickneys and Bengeo - traversing fields; some with ploughed crops.
This is a delightful hike with Spring flowers along paths; there may even be bluebells along the way.
Please bring a packed lunch. There are limited facilities on this trail so be prepared to be flexible and adaptable.
No booking required. No need to text or email. Just turn up to join the walk.
